There are three requirements to renew a private license:
- Submit the license renewal application.
- Pay the $30 application fee.
- Make sure you have earned at least 3 hours of credit from approved classes, or retake the pesticide exams.
Current Private License
A renewal application and fee can be submitted using this site, or by returning the paper form we recently mailed to you, for a license that is current or expired less than six months.
Expired More Than Six Months
If the license is expired more than six months, an applicator must apply for a new license using the form found on the ODA website and successfully complete all required testing before a new license can be issued.
Important notes:
- This site is for Private applicator licenses only; renewals for other license types, including fertilizer certificates, cannot be submitted on this site.
- Even if your recertification hours are incomplete, you can still submit the renewal application and fee on this site. Your license will not be issued however, until your credit hours are complete or you've retested.
- This site is only for submitting the renewal application and license fee; registering for recertification classes must be done elsewhere. A schedule of available classes can be found here.
- All users must create a new account, even if you used this site last year.
- When creating an account, the current Control Number from the license card must be entered; entering previous control numbers will result in an error message. Contact our office at 614-728-6987 if you don't have your current license card expiring 3/31/2023.
- After creating an account and logging in, a summary of your contact information and earned recertification credits will be shown. Please note that the information shown here is from November 2023 and will not be updated until next year. Even if you submit a change of information request or earn recertification hours, this information will not be updated. Current information about your status can be found on the ODA Pesticides site here.
